BM-1391… Brass and wood casters. Pair of antique type brass plated steel casters with wooden wheels (includes grip neck sockets). Often used on Hoosier brand cabinets and others. Caster is stamped steel that has been brass plated. Wooden wheel measures 5/8″ wide x 1-1/4″ in diameter. Stem is 1-9/16″ long x 1/4″ in diameter. The caster will support 150lbs per caster.
Holes are drilled into a wooden leg or the like then the socket is inserted into hole tight. Prongs of the grip neck socket spread when caster shaft is inserted. Shaft has a ball end wich holds it inside of socket. Socket has saw tooth edge which helps hold socket in the hole. Many antique furnitures have used this caster. In many cases the old socket will still fit the new wheels. This caster is more commonly used on antiques. Sold as a pair.
