Trunk Handle End Cap, Stamped Steel Star Design – KD-TKH78S

Thin stamped steel trunk handle end cap with a star design, reproducing the original style found on antique trunks. Two are needed per handle. Overall size is 2 inches long by 2-1/4 inches wide. Inside dimensions are 1-3/8 inch long by 1-1/8 inch wide by 1/4 inch deep, accommodating trunk handles up to 1/4 inch thick. The cap is primarily decorative, covering the nails that hold the leather strap. Nail the handle to the trunk with the nail near the straight edge of the cap, under the dimple, to keep the cap from being pried up during use. Can be left to rust naturally for a patina look or painted to match. Sold individually, order two per handle.
