Brass Ager & Darkening Solution – 8 oz

The K-M3 is an 8-ounce brass aging solution designed to produce controlled, gradual color change on brass, copper, bronze, or tin hardware — without altering dimensions. Use it to darken new brass hardware to match antiques, add a vintage patina to modern furniture details, or create an authentic aged look on trunk hardware. Many customers use this solution on our brass knobs and pulls to blend new hardware seamlessly with period pieces.

Note: Not suitable for coated trunk hardware (specifically items with a “D” prefix in the item number). Always wear gloves to avoid oily fingerprints interfering with the application.

How to Use

• Clean the metal surface thoroughly before application
• Apply solution with rags or paper towels, or soak the piece directly in the solution
• Watch for the desired color change
• Rinse to stop the darkening process at the desired shade
• Dry and polish with steel wool to highlight raised areas for a two-tone antique effect
• For trunk hardware: lightly grind through the brassy finish first to achieve a blotchy, aged trunk look
