Steel Trunk Nail 1″ KD-TKN1S

KD-TKN1S… Steel trunk nail 1″. Trunk nail tacks, 4 ounce lot, which is approximately 80 steel tacks per bag. 1″ long with an approximate head size of just over 1/4″. These trunk nails are produced on machinery that has been in constant use since the Civil War. These style nails were used to secure all the hardware since the beginning of steamer trunk production. Most of them were driven in against an iron or bent over inside, to keep the nail from poking through. This is why most trunks had decorative paper inside to hide this and the method of bending the nail also made the nails very hard to remove. Sold in 4oz packs(80 nails).
